Suit trends 2026: soft shoulders and a warm, deep palette

This year's silhouettes lean towards comfort, lightly structured shoulders and shades of brown and moss green instead of the familiar office grey.

Soft Italian-style shoulders continue to lead. Instead of thick padding for a square line, tailors use a thin canvas so the jacket follows the natural shoulder.

The palette is moving towards warm, deep tones: tobacco brown, moss green and light beige. These colours pair easily with a shirt and no tie, suited to more flexible workplaces.

Relaxed straight-leg trousers are back in place of the slim fit. It is the most noticeable change when comparing a suit from this year with one from five years ago.
